Carlos Lozano -
Director of Tennis
While playing jr. tennis, Carlos won state and regional national
tournaments in singles and doubles, and ranked 10 nationally in singles
and doubles in 18's. While playing at Brigham Young University in ('99 -
'03), he played at the #1 spot in singles and doubles, was named All
Conference Player for Mountain West Conference and was named
All-American in doubles his jr. year. He was Gold Medalist in doubles in
21st World University Games in Beijing (second biggest sports event
after the Summer Olympics), China - Aug. '01. He was Silver Medalist in
doubles in the 22nd World University Games in Daegu, South Korea Aug.
'03. Carlos was a member of the Mexico's Davis Cup Team for the series
against Peru in Sept. '01 and was the 2004 Upstate Head Coach for SC
Junior Player Development. He currently has a NTRP rating of 6.5.
Tommy Shimada - Tennis
Professional
Tom played professionally for 11 years and ranked as high as #40 in the
world in ATP Doubles. He won 3 career doubles titles on ATP Tour and was
a Japanese Davis Cup Member for 8 years. Tom was an 2000 Sydney Olympian
and a 2002 Asian Olympics Gold Medalist - Tennis Team Competition. He
has doubles victories over Federer, Roddick and Safin.
